I know it's only just February but….

...the spring colours are coming out of the stash.
I'm all ready thinking of Easter, my Birthday is on Good Friday this year, which makes it even more exciting.
I have completely indulged myself and made a mini quilt, they are just so quick and satisfying, I'm not sure I want to commit to any thing bigger at the moment so I am pleasing myself and loving it. Just look at that tiny bunny so so cute, makes me smile very time.
I hope you have something that makes you smile too…it's the little things you know :-)

family cushion

I started this cushion quite a while ago but stopped sewing for a while, well I'm happy to say it was pulled out last week and completed, another WIP finished.
I have been having a lot of fun trying out a wonky star block, I used kerry's tutorial, I loved putting the star block together and will be using it to make a kitchen aid cover although I really want to make the pot holder to go with it.
Also I have plans for a table runner for my dresser, I can't seem to make things quickly enough at the moment before another plan pops into my head…I'm making the most of it incase the inspiration leaves me again.
Right I'm off to sew some more stars x

Winter birds candle mat

Happy 2015
I always feel a little excited at the start of a new year, it seems like a good time to reflect on the good and bad of the previous year and try and learn from the good and bad if that makes sense.
Should do so every day really but I get caught up in life and forget to see the bigger picture.
So here I am looking forward to the year to come.
I haven't sewn anything for quite some time and I wanted something small and useful to start with. I love candles at this time of year so a lovely little candle mat was created. Very happy I am with it too, it's given me the confidence to pull my fabric stash out and get creative again, I got too busy/unorganised last year to be creative, this year will be different.

I hope your new year plans are going well,

Christmas eve….

The tree is up.
I have made my own wreath for free with things I've collected.
The girls have made beautiful table displays, we will light them tonight.
I have made cakes and ginger bread, some of whom had no calories what so ever.
The presents are wrapped and the family is gathered.
All that remains is for me to wish you all a very wonderful Christmas and a happy new year.
and say sorry for my blurry pictures and my lack of blogging….sorry x

October…a little late….

Wow how busy was October… extra shifts at work and lots on at school, finished with a lovely visit to see our families.
I try and grow pumpkins every year with varying degrees of success and this year was no different, I didn't manage many but what I did grow were perfect. The tiniest ones are Jack be little and the other one is Amazonka, ha ha what a fab name.
I finished October's cross stitch, a gorgeous owl and managed to finish the autumn sampler too, so cute.
Lastly we had a fab evening trick or treating in our lovely neighbourhood, needless to say the zombie pumpkin and the witch came home with enough sweeties to last them till Christmas (well if their Daddy doesn't eat them all anyway)
Bye for now Emma x

September

September…wow already!
There has been a small amount of crafting going on around here but sadly not much. My woodland sampler is coming along nicely, the September hedgehogs are complete.
The pots of flowers and veg in my garden have also come along nicely, I still have pots of colour and hopefully some lovely pumpkins to show off soon.
I have started my Christmas crafting with some barn owl making there are a few of these little cuties hanging about.
I also joined in with the frosted pumpkin's Halloween town and have made a Miss Juniper kitty from Posie gets cosy, she likes it here and wants to stay :)
That's it for now

A bit more upcycling

I found this lovely mirror in the local charity shop, it was gold and red but not in a nice way. The shape was perfect so it came home with me, I painted it and now it's gracing the top of my newly painted side board, I absolutely love it. I have been wistfully looking at mirrors in shops costing upwards of £150 and I just can't justify that sort of money…happily this one was £7 and I already had the paint and wax, I love giving unwanted things a new home :-)
