Christmas eve….

The tree is up.
I have made my own wreath for free with things I've collected.
The girls have made beautiful table displays, we will light them tonight.
I have made cakes and ginger bread, some of whom had no calories what so ever.
The presents are wrapped and the family is gathered.
All that remains is for me to wish you all a very wonderful Christmas and a happy new year.
and say sorry for my blurry pictures and my lack of blogging….sorry x

October…a little late….

Wow how busy was October… extra shifts at work and lots on at school, finished with a lovely visit to see our families.
I try and grow pumpkins every year with varying degrees of success and this year was no different, I didn't manage many but what I did grow were perfect. The tiniest ones are Jack be little and the other one is Amazonka, ha ha what a fab name.
I finished October's cross stitch, a gorgeous owl and managed to finish the autumn sampler too, so cute.
Lastly we had a fab evening trick or treating in our lovely neighbourhood, needless to say the zombie pumpkin and the witch came home with enough sweeties to last them till Christmas (well if their Daddy doesn't eat them all anyway)
Bye for now Emma x

September

September…wow already!
There has been a small amount of crafting going on around here but sadly not much. My woodland sampler is coming along nicely, the September hedgehogs are complete.
The pots of flowers and veg in my garden have also come along nicely, I still have pots of colour and hopefully some lovely pumpkins to show off soon.
I have started my Christmas crafting with some barn owl making there are a few of these little cuties hanging about.
I also joined in with the frosted pumpkin's Halloween town and have made a Miss Juniper kitty from Posie gets cosy, she likes it here and wants to stay :)
That's it for now

A bit more upcycling

I found this lovely mirror in the local charity shop, it was gold and red but not in a nice way. The shape was perfect so it came home with me, I painted it and now it's gracing the top of my newly painted side board, I absolutely love it. I have been wistfully looking at mirrors in shops costing upwards of £150 and I just can't justify that sort of money…happily this one was £7 and I already had the paint and wax, I love giving unwanted things a new home :-)

I love a prairie point I do

This is the first cushion I've thought about since the cushion madness for christmas, I love the prairie points :-)

I love bunny pom-poms too, these are some the girls and I made.
I hope you all had a lovely Easter and hopefully unlike me you haven't consumed your entire body weight in chocolate eggs xxx

Ooh waiting with excitement….

For this to flower,

and for Easter, I love Easter so this year I've made a Easter tree, how did I manage without an Easter tree…just fine I'm sure but it's presence is making me very happy indeed :-)

My Easter tree is sitting on a side board that I hated and was ready to trash, however in the spirit of   up-cycling and the facts that it was a, a solid piece of furniture, b, I don't have the money for a new one, and c, I don't really want a new one! I decided to give it a make over with some chalk paint, because I do not like sanding at all and you can just paint it on.

Well it turned out just perfect with a far better finish than I was expecting and I really enjoyed it.

Happy weekend everyone, be back soon

Sunshine and marmalade…..

and a few other things too.
So Mum gave me all the supplies for my own marmalade, and here it is, it tastes yummy and was fun too make too, it'll definately be on my to do list each year from now on, I'm never buying a jar again!
Been making lots of coffee too.
My hyacinths are growing and the sun is shining, I'm not letting it fool me, I know this wet and windy winter is still upon us.
I'm well ahead on my february cross stitch, just got to fill in a bit of sparkle in the stars
I hope you are enjoying some sunshine where you are

January…..

Has seen me concentrating on this in my spare time, perfect for a cold winter's evening under a blanket.

This is last years stitch along from the frosted pumpkin stitchery. You know my love of woodland animals…well this has just ticked all the boxes for me. They have a once upon a time stitch along for this year…it's cute, really cute but one thing at a time for me.

Also January has seen me doing a lot of this

mmm yummy.

What's inspiring you this wet and windy January ?

Much love Emma xxx

Happy New Year 2014

I'm not sure I'm ready to get back on again just yet but time marches on so normal life resumes on Monday and I hope to get back to regular posting very soon.
In the mean time I wish you all a wonderful, happy and prosperous new year 2014.
