Spring swap

The mini quilts have been posted and received, I can't believe how lucky I am, Rachel of Contented has sent me the most beautiful mini quilt, just look at the darling little bee, I absolutely love it. Rachel also sent me some lovely fabric, some little wooden eggs and some chocolate bunnies yum.
The little bee mini is sitting pride of place on my Easter display and I just need to put the little eggs on the tree :-)

This also means I can show the little quilt that I sent to Rachel, as I am obsessed with stars it had to be a star quilt and I managed to get some bunnies in there too. It's been so much fun to do a mini swap, Thanks Rachel for swapping with me.

I hope to be back before easter, cutting it fine I know! But I have a little bunny brooch I want to share.
See you soon,

Little mini quilt swap

After the rush of Christmas I found myself in a bit of a sewing rut...I wanted to stitch but didn't know what so I made a few minis and remembered what fun it is to make something small that you don't have to worry about too much.
Any way I blogged about it and my bloggy friend Rachel, who has a lovely blog called Contented was also in a similar situation. Rachel contacted me and asked if it would be a good idea to have a little mini swap to put the fun back into sewing again, I thought it was a fab idea so we made arrangements :-)
So here is my final set of sneak peeks for Rachel. The binding is going on at the weekend and then it will be ready for posting just in time for Easter.

Love is in the air

I couldn't resist this gorgeous little love stamp cross stitch from The frosted pumpkin stitchery so adorable.
I made it in to a mini quilt with extra wadding so it would stand up like a picture. I was after quick fix cuteness to brighten up the mantle, so I was too impatient didn't want to wait for a frame.
I also took down my Christmas sampler (it needs a proper frame and it isn't Christmas any more). It left a really blank space on the wall, so again after a quick fix I stitched up some hearts with some pink and red scraps and made a little decoration for the wall, the picture is pants but it really does brighten that wall up nicely.
I can't believe we're at the end of february already…yay for march and the clocks going forward :-)

mmm fudge

I've been having a go at making fudge, with surprisingly good results, this batch was vanilla fudge with a chocolate and peanut topping, it was yummy.
Just in case you want to have a go…your family will love you forever lol)
This is the recipe.
Back soon,

I know it's only just February but….

...the spring colours are coming out of the stash.
I'm all ready thinking of Easter, my Birthday is on Good Friday this year, which makes it even more exciting.
I have completely indulged myself and made a mini quilt, they are just so quick and satisfying, I'm not sure I want to commit to any thing bigger at the moment so I am pleasing myself and loving it. Just look at that tiny bunny so so cute, makes me smile very time.
I hope you have something that makes you smile too…it's the little things you know :-)

family cushion

I started this cushion quite a while ago but stopped sewing for a while, well I'm happy to say it was pulled out last week and completed, another WIP finished.
I have been having a lot of fun trying out a wonky star block, I used kerry's tutorial, I loved putting the star block together and will be using it to make a kitchen aid cover although I really want to make the pot holder to go with it.
Also I have plans for a table runner for my dresser, I can't seem to make things quickly enough at the moment before another plan pops into my head…I'm making the most of it incase the inspiration leaves me again.
Right I'm off to sew some more stars x
